Ariana Grande has made her rekindled relationship with former boyfriend Ricky Alvarez official on Instagram.
On Wednesday, August 12, the 33-year-old pop star shared a photo dump that included two intimate shots with the dancer and photographer. In one, the pair appear in coordinating outfits in a mirror selfie with their faces cropped out; Alvarez’s arm is wrapped around Grande as they hold hands. Another blurry mirror photo shows him behind the camera while she looks toward him. Grande tagged Alvarez in both images and captioned the post simply with “🌱 ！ ♡.”
Alvarez, 35, later reshared the photos on his own Instagram Stories.
The pair originally dated from 2015 to 2016 after meeting when Alvarez worked as a backup dancer on Grande’s Honeymoon Tour. They remained friendly after the split — Grande even name-checked him in her 2018 hit “Thank U, Next.” Rumors of a reconciliation began circulating this summer after they were spotted together in Austin, Texas, in late June. Alvarez later attended one of her Eternal Sunshine Tour shows, and Grande reportedly altered lyrics during performances of “Thank U, Next” in ways that nodded to him.
The Instagram confirmation comes as Grande has announced plans to step back from public-facing work after her current tour wraps. The soft launch of the relationship marks a notable personal update amid that planned break from the spotlight.
