Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has broken his silence on his July wedding to Taylor Swift, describing the private Madison Square Garden ceremony as “the best night of my life.”

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, August 12, during the Chiefs’ training camp, the 36-year-old athlete reflected on the star-studded event for the first time publicly. “It was a fun offseason, man,” Kelce said. “Wedding was the best night of my life. I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us. That’s about all I really got from that night. It was a crazy night. It was full of a lot of celebration.”

He and Swift, also 36, exchanged vows on July 3 at New York’s Madison Square Garden in front of roughly 1,000 guests. The highly private celebration drew a who’s-who guest list that reportedly included A-list names from Hollywood, music, and sports. Actor-comedian Adam Sandler officiated, and the couple wore Christian Dior designs. No official photos from the night have been released.

Kelce also explained the unconventional venue choice. “MSG, man, I always told myself I’d go for a playoff game when the [New York] Knicks were rocking, and my wife went when I was stuck in minicamp,” he said, referring to Swift’s appearance at a Knicks playoff game in June. “I didn’t get the opportunity to go then, so it’s kind of cool to get to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue, the mecca of all sports venues, being able to get married in there.”

He thanked the arena’s owners for accommodating their desire for privacy and joked about one practical detail: “The A/C was cooking, baby. That was the best part.”

With the wedding chapter closed, Kelce made clear his focus has shifted. “It’s football, baby,” he said as the Chiefs prepare for the upcoming NFL season.
