Ayra Starr Returns to the Stage After Recent Hospitalisation
Nigerian Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr has returned to the stage after recently revealing that she had been recovering from a major surgery.
The singer performed on NBC’s Today Show in the United States on August 7 as part of the programme’s Citi Summer Concert Series. Her appearance came about a week after she shared a photograph of herself from a hospital bed, which prompted concern among fans.
During her appearance, Ayra Starr said she was recovering and expressed gratitude for being well enough to perform. She did not publicly disclose the specific reason for her hospitalisation.
The singer performed several songs, including “Ms. Paper,” “Tornado” and “Rush,” during the outdoor concert.
Ayra Starr also spoke about her upcoming album, Starr Girl, which is scheduled for release on August 14. She described the project as part of a new stage in her artistic journey and said her experiences in New York City have influenced the new era of her music.
The album is expected to feature collaborations with several international artists, including Zayn Malik, Ken, Leon Thomas, Theodora and Danny Ocean. Wizkid is also listed among the collaborators.
Her return to the stage has been welcomed by fans, particularly after the recent concerns surrounding her health.
For now, the singer appears focused on her recovery and the release of her next musical project.
